CUCKOO'S NEST

This is another exhibition I curated in my time as Project Manager for Beach London. Cuckoo's Nest was a collaborative show with The Museum of British Folklore for Pick Me Up 2016 and was also exhibited at Christies Auction House.

 

Each contributing artist was given a particular ritual or festivity for them to interpret, 

I chose Longsword dancing, a type of Morris dancing. I made a diorama using some folklore inspired characters - the box was laser etched with sword patterns and glass fronted.

 

The Museum ended up buying my piece for their permanent collection

I designed the identity for the show, which was used on pin badges and t-shirts.

Camden Town Brewery again supplied the booze for the opening and used one of my character designs for them for their bar decoration.
